Perennials for Long Island Gardens: This is the number one requested program. As an avid perennial
collector and grower, each year Melanie trials numerous new plants.
Each year the program is revamped, new cultivars are added, poor
performers are taken out. While the program is built around Melanie's
experience with these plants growing in her zone 6b Long Island garden,
gardens in many parts of the world with similar growing conditions
would benefit from the knowledge here.
Garden Junque: One man's trash is another man's treasure. This is most definitely
true of garden accessories. All the way from bowling balls as accent
pieces, through romantic garden swings, sheds and gazebos, Melanie will
explain how the choice of garden objects will directly affect the mood
in your garden. Be prepared to laugh along the way as you see the
amazing things people consider art.
The Collectors Garden: This is a brand new program currently under construction. It's
first showing will be on November 7, 2009 in Pittsburgh PA. Anybody who
collects specific plant material is aware of the challenge to create a
harmonious, well balanced garden that holds interest throughout the
year. I just can't wait to see how this program turns out!
Hot Foliage Plants: Looking for a way to make your garden look spectacular for months instead of for weeks? The secret is adding lots of fantastic foliage plants. So often people chose plants based on their flowers and yet they might only flower for two weeks a year. Learn how to weave a garden tapestry with combinations of foliage plants in your garden beds and containers.
